Our Staff

Pastor Dayton has been the Pastor at Mission Southern Baptist Church since 2000. Prior to becoming a Pastor, he worked in a wide variety of fields including at a lumber mill, in the fabrication industry and owning a convenience store.  In 1999, God called Pastor Dayton into the ministry. During that time, he served as the Youth Pastor at Ridgley Southern Baptist Church for one year before being led to come to Mission. Pastor Dayton has received a certificate of completion for Biblical Studies  as well as a certificate of completion for Biblical Counseling from Liberty University. He has also completed several Biblical classes from Dallas Seminary. Pastor Dayton's number one desire is to help others come to know Jesus as their Savior and to help Christ followers build a life-long relationship with Him. Pastor Dayton is the proud husband of JaDonna and dad to Cloe and Dayton Clay. 

Doug has been the Student Pastor at Mission Southern Baptist since 2016. He has several years in ministry experience and has seen and learned the necessity of Gospel Advancing Ministry in youth ministry. Youth ministry can easily become more games than gospel advancing. With GAM, Doug has learned and put in place the tools students need to advance the Kingdom through GAM. “My goal is to mold, equip and make disciple makers to reach every teen everywhere for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He has worked with several youth ministry organizations such as Multiply Ministries, Dare2Share Ministries and the Missouri Baptist Association Youth program. He has been training and equipping youth leaders for the last three years and loves to see other youth programs flourish for the Kingdom. He says that he could not be successful in his ministry without the love and support of his wife, Mandy and his two children, Laura Jean and Joe. Doug is continually active in the local school by serving on the Southwest R-5 School Board and has worked several years in public safety.

Kathy has been a member of the Mission staff as the Ministry Assistant since March 2017.  However, she does so much more than that! Kathy also leads our Children's Ministry as she has a passion for children and seeing them grow in their relationship with Christ. Kathy's favorite scripture is Jeremiah 29:11.  She also enjoys reading, being outside, and spending time with family. Kathy is the wife of Jerry and is honored to be the mother of Kelsey, Jerri Lynn, and JR.
